Fall TV!

My fall has officially started!  I'm so in love with most of the new shows that are on the networks right now that I can't even believe it.  Here are my thoughts and opinions on some of my favorites:

Hawaii Five-O
First off, I have to ask how can anyone not love a show where these guys are virtually in every scene:

I was a little skeptical about HFO coming back but was pleasantly surprised to see that it was truly exceptional!  You know a show is going to be awesome when five jeeps blow up and there's a gun fight within the first 30 seconds of the show.

Lone Star
I do enjoy this show, however, I do not think it is going to last. Everyone loves a lovable con man though right?  It doesn't hurt that he's totally cute and adorable when he's right in the middle of pulling off a con.

Chase
And yet another show set in the great state of Texas.  Chase is a winner all around.  Annie is smart, good with a gun and knows the lyrics to Waylon Jennings songs.  I can't find anything I don't like about this show.  The plots are not cheesy, the "cops" are savvy and funny at the same time and the "rookie" is that adorable gardener from Desperate Housewives.

Outlaw
Jimmy Smits!  I don't need so say anything else.

Law and Order:  LA
This is the one that I was most excited (and anxious) about.  Anxious because I really was thinking that L&O would run for another 10 years at least and was seriously disappointed when I heard that it was being canceled.  However, I will stipulate that it ran for so long, they were starting to repeat plots, although I still watched and will always love Jack McCoy.  L&O LA totally lived up to the standards of the L&O franchise and I really like the cops.  The DA is OK, but again, I'm a Jack girl so no one is going to live up to that.  The only thing that I miss is the "dah dah" on the opening theme.  The theme is still there, although they've toned it down and there is no "dah dah" between the scenes and I do kinda miss that.

&^%$ My Dad Says
This has got to be the 2nd most funniest show on network television.  Actually, I would have to say third (1st being Big Bang Theory tied with The Good Guys).  William Shatner is awesome.  I actually had no idea what this show was even based on until right before it aired.  Then I got scared.  Then I was totally happy.  I love it when Shatner "over acts" and I'm always curious to if he does it on purpose now.  I think he does.  You also have to give kudos to a show that impersonates the impressions of Shatner.  It was truly epic!  This show is going to be around for a while and I love love love that it airs after BBT!

Well, that's all I have for today.  Everyone have a great and spectacular weekend!

vertical stripes

I decided to make a scarf with vertical stripes.  Actually, that's not true.  I was watching TV, trying to figure out what to do with this awesome yarn that a friend surprised ordered for me from Knit Picks.  Then the idea of having a striped scarf would be cool.  Then I thought that horizontal stripes are boring and wouldn't it be cool if it was vertical stripes.  Then I tried to figure out how one would go about making a scarf with vertical stripes.  So three hours later, this is what I ended up with:

After a while, I needed a break from the vertical striping so I added a block of horizontal.  Then I decided it was time to go try to go to sleep.  I'm not sure if I like the combination of the two or if I want to frog the horizontal part and just have it all be vertical.  One thing for sure, the vertical stripes are staying because that was a lot of work.  I'm guesstimating that it will be finished around Christmas time, 2025.

McDreamy

I have decided to use this blog for scrapbooking. Check back soon (or subscribe) for updates.

In the meantime, I have left this picture of McDreamy on my blog for something pretty to look at. I made this at the end of season two of GA. It still sits on my shelf in my scrapbook room.
